A.K Songstress and MzVee Are Just Up-Coming Artistes – Kaakie

Dancehall Queen Kaakie has given notice. She has given notice that she is currently focusing on preparations towards her final examinations at the School of Nursing, University of Ghana, and when she is done, she is coming back to claim her place as the best female dancehall artiste in Ghana.
“So far as I am alive, I remain the best female dancehall artiste in Ghana and there is no competitor because the records are there to show”, she told Showbiz in a snap interview on Monday.

“Almost all the songs I have released: Ewo, Too Much Toffee Pon Tongue, D.C Tun Up, Top Gal Tyme and Kumkumcha have been hits” Kaakie said with a lot of pride in her voice.

She said that while she has been away from the limelight, she has recognised that other much younger female dancehall artistes are doing well on the scene.

While congratulating artistes such as A.K Songstress and MzVee for their entry, Kaakie said, however, that they should be modest and study the ropes because, to her, the two “are not there yet. I see them as up-coming dancehall artistes.” Kaakie said.

“I have heard people say A.K Songstress and MzVee have overtaken me but the question I ask is, where was A.K Songstress and MzVee four years ago when I was competing with the likes of Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Jupiter?”

Asked why she has been silent for some time now, Kaakie said her school work does not allow her concentrate on music now but she will hit the studio once she is done with schooling in a couple of weeks. She apologised to her fans for taking a break to concentrate on her academic work and promised to make music her first priority once she is done with schooling.

The Kumkumcha hit maker said that, she has a number of songs ready for release once she is done with school.
