Ghanaian left back Gideon Baah scored a crucial goal to help his team HJK Helsinki record a win over ROPS in the Finnish Suomen Cup on Wednesday.
Scoring in the 15th minute of the match, the 22 year old defender doubled his team’s tally as they coursed to a comfortable 2-0 win. It was his first ever goal for the current Veikkausliiga Champions.
Baah has become a regular starter for HJK Helsinki in the Veikkausliiga since signing for the Finnish top flight club from FC Honka in February of this year. He has featured in all 3 opening games for HJK.
In an phone interview, the full-back said he was happy to score his first goal for HJK. “I played a very good game and I also scored so I’m very happy. I hope to continue with this form,” he told Frontpage Media.
Baah is set to feature for HJK in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
