BlaqAfricaGH, a fast rising modelling agency, over the weekend donated some much needed items to the Mantse Tackie School in Adabraka, a suburb of Accra.
The visit saw BlaqAfricaGH donate assorted items worth ¢1200 GHS to the school. The delegation which visited the school included the CEO of BlaqAfricaGH, Alberta Antwi, accompanied by some models from the agency.
Items donated included exercise books, buckets, dustbins, cups, rubbish collectors and an assortment of biscuits and sweets to the delight of the children.
Presenting the items, CEO of BlaqAfricaGH, Alberta Antwi, said that the donation formed part of the company’s social responsibility and pledged BlaqAfricaGH’s continuous support to the school.
She added that social responsibility is a big part of BlaqAfricaGH’s business model and that it was not going to be a nine day wonder.
“It is part of the company’s broad strategic plan to get involved in community philanthropy as much as possible in order to provide assistance to the less fortunate in society,” she said.
Mrs Hannah Ofosuah, headmistress of Mantse Tackie school who received the items expressed gratitude to BlaqAfricaGH for the donations. She also made a passionate plea to the modelling agency to strengthen its support to the school.
“Even though Mantse Tackie schools is government assisted, we are still deprived in so many ways. It is a fact that government cannot do it all and that’s why we are happy that private inviduals and companies such as yours are taking the initiative to donate to us,” she said.
“In fact most of the children that attend this school are from very deprived homes. This your donation is going to really help us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We pray that this gesture will spur others on to donate to us as this will greatly help us,” Mrs Ofosuah added.
