Exclusive: It’s Official! Gideon Baah Signs for HJK Helsinki

HJK Helsinki have confirmed the signing of Ghana left back, Gideon Baah from FC Honka on a 3 year deal.

He has agreed personal terms and passed his medical to end his one year stay at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto.

The 22 year old player signed for an undisclosed fee with the current Veikkausliiga Champions and he is expected to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Baah was handed the number 3 shirt at HJK Helsinki when he was officially unveiled today. A statement released by the club said that they were more than happy to sign such a good player as he was a huge prospect for the future.

The full back, who scored 3 goals for FC Honka last season, had also been linked with two other Norwegian teams.

In an phone interview, Gideon Baah expressed happiness at signing for his new club and said he relishes the new challenge of playing in the Champions League. “I think the deal is good for me and since the club is playing in the Champions League it gives me a bigger platform to really show the world what I have,” he said.

The former Asante Kotoko defender was adjudged the best defender and best rookie for his efforts in his debut season at FC Honka.
